James M. Searing - Founding Partner
Executive Search Experience
Jim is a senior executive search consultant with nearly thirty years’ experience spanning large and small firms. Prior to Lochlin Partners, he was co-founder of Foster/Searing, a leading boutique firm with clients in life sciences and high technology industries. Jim also served as Managing Partner for a predecessor nine-partner firm in the Mid- Atlantic area where he led searches across sales, marketing, finance and human resources functions. Previously, Jim was Managing Director of Korn/Ferry International's Virginia office and a leader in the firm's North American advanced technology practice. Earlier in his career, he was a co-founder of a prominent regional search firm. Particular areas of search expertise encompass the functional fields of general management, sales/marketing, finance, engineering and government affairs.
Based on his experience, Jim strongly believes that “a truly thorough senior executive search effort should be a unique and individually tailored endeavor, performed entirely by a seasoned search professional—and not an assembly process.” Having held top positions in large global and small boutique firms, he has become dedicated to this concept.
Other Experience
Prior to his search career, Jim was with AT&T Long Lines, where he managed sales and marketing for a variety of large national accounts. Earlier, he spent six years as an Officer in the U.S. Marine Corp in the logistics, supply and telecommunications fields.
Education
Mr. Searing holds a BS in engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business, both with honors.
